It's true. There hasn't been one parcel of land sold, commercial or residential, in Kingston, NH in over a year. It isn't becasue Kingston is not desirable, on the contrary, Kingston is a beautiful and highly desired town to reside in. The problem has to do with slightly inflated prices in Kingston. My Buyers wanted to be in Kingston and had to be in Kingston. I searched for months but it was difficult, none of the Sellers wanted to come down in price, yet the Lenders would not give more than the assessed on any parcel. We looked at one very nice parcel of land priced too high, but possibly attainable. However, the Seller did not want to negotiate at that time. Only a few weeks later, the price on that same parcel was dropped by $40,000k. We began negotiations again, settled on the perfect deal and my Buyer's finally got their land, the lot they wanted. From an original $150k to only $87k. They were so excited, they already began preliminary construction....on the same day of the closing.
